RCIA Information

Christian Initiation for Children (RCIA) is a process to prepare older children and teens for complete initiation into the Catholic Church.  Children who are 7 years or older and unbaptized or in the 4th grade and baptized but not well-educated in Catholic faith are welcome to attend.  Children meet at the 9:00am Mass on Sundays and teens meet at the 5:30pm Mass on Sundays.  The Gospel, Sacraments, Saints and other Catholic traditions are discussed.  Children and Youth are also expected to participate in Elementary Religious Education or Youth Ministry.  Children and teens are usually received into the Church at the Easter Vigil.  For further information, please contact  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Why do unbaptized children 7 years or older need to attend RCIA to receive Baptism?

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is a process to initiate both adults and children in to the Catholic Church. ·The Second Vatican Council restored this process much as it had been in the early Church and the Rite was canonically approved by the National Conference of Bishops on November 11, 1986. ·Church law requires any person over the age of reason (seven years old) who approaches the Church for Baptism be prepared through the RCIA process for all three Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist)
