Catholic Social Teaching - Protecting Human Life and Dignity—The Right to Food
Our Catholic Social Teachings proclaim the central truth that every human person is sacred and has a right to life. That means enough food to sustain a life with dignity. When poverty and hunger diminish the lives of individuals and families in our community, we can selflessly act to make a difference in the lives of our neighbors. This appeal for St. Vincent de Paul is an opportunity worth getting behind. It’s a “Noble Cause.”
The OLG Justice and Charity Council (JCC) provides support, consultation, and assistance to the Pastor, Parish staff, and our ministries to encourage charitable outreach, advocacy, justice, and Christian service. We’re here to help connect you with social ministries where you can put your talents and in-kind donations to work. To take a more active role in JCC, please consider participating in one of our monthly meetings, currently done as Zoom calls. To learn about other opportunities, email
