When we think of our ministries of care, we recall the Parable of the Good Samaritan. More than a simple tale of helping others, this parable acts as a profound call to Christians to continually choose to be a neighbor who passes by or a neighbor who serves in full. Whether you are the person who needs help or recognizes that need in another, we invite Christ and his teaching into our efforts to lift up others at Our Lady of Grace.
When we think of our apostolates of accompaniment, we recall the Road to Emmaus. As a companion, Jesus systematically reveals himself to two followers, ultimately being known in the breaking of the bread. Spiritual accompaniment is the apostolate of intentional relationship that is oriented toward a definitive direction of growth in holiness and transformation in the Person of Christ. In general, accompaniment is a broad term that refers to a relationship between two or more people who share mutuality and reciprocity in the spiritual life. At Our Lady of Grace, we respond to God's model of walking alongside one another so that we can direct each other toward Christ.
