The Justice and Charity Council is the parish ministry involved in educating the parish on Catholic Social Teaching. We have been doing this by publishing articles in our bulletin, on the OLG website, and on our Facebook page.
New this year the JCC is partnering with Youth Ministry this semester to engage the Edge and Life Teen youth in the principles of Catholic Social Teaching.
This series will kick-off with a parish wide adult educational night entitled “How to Plant Seeds for Catholic Social Teaching with your Children”. This event will be held on Wednesday, January 26th in the Community Room. Come engage in discussion and reflection around the social teaching of our Church. We are especially inviting EDGE and Life Teen parents to attend.
In addition to our educational effort, the council also provides support for our flu shot clinics, our bloodmobile drive, and the Family Promise homeless support program. As well as supporting OLG charities members work individually with local charities such as St Vincent de Paul, hospital volunteers, Hamilton Country walk/run, and the Good Samaritan Network.
If you are interested in more information on or to join the JCC please contact us at justiceandcharity@ologn.org. Please also see the JCC bulletin board on the hallway by the community room during January.
